Surface Preparation Services
SAND, SODA AND DRY ICE BLASTING
Sandblasting removes rust, old paint, scale, and contamination, creating a rough profile for coating adhesion. This technique is best used for heavy-duty prep to ensure the next coat of paint is applied to a clean surface. Soda blasting involves the gentle removal of paint, grease, and surface contaminants without severe abrasion. Dry Ice Blasting provides a non-abrasive clean that leaves no media residue and is safe for sensitive equipment. Great for electrical equipment and food equipment.
POWER TOOL CLEANING, VACUUM AND VAPOR BLASTING
Includes the mechanical removal of loose paint, rust, and debris. Uses handheld or mechanized tools like grinders, needle guns, wire brushes, or scrapers to mechanically abrade the surface. Best for localized areas or where blasting isn’t feasible.
Vacuum blasting provides abrasive cleaning and surface preparation while simultaneously capturing dust, spent media, and debris through a built-in vacuum system, making it ideal for sensitive indoor environments with minimal cleanup. Vapour blasting uses a water and abrasive slurry to gently remove coatings while reducing dust and surface damage, producing a smoother finish that is well suited for delicate metals and restoration work.

Projects
At Central Painting, efficient and high-quality surface preparation is the first step in every successful painting project. Our team begins by carefully assessing the existing surface conditions to determine the most effective preparation method and tools required for the job. This ensures contaminants are properly removed and the surface is prepared to meet the specific requirements of the coating system. Proper preparation allows coatings to adhere correctly, resulting in a smoother finish, longer- lasting protection, and a professional, high-performance result.
